Posted May 3, 2025. New construction kicked off with a ground breaking ceremony on a new Maverick convenience store and fuel marketer at Raton’s south interchange of I-25. Maverick, marketed as a fuel adventure, has 400 sites located in 13 states, making it the largest fuel/convenience store business in the western states.
The Raton location is expected to serve the signature Bonfire food, provide ethanol-free and diesel fuel, RV lanes and an RV dump. The jobs and gross receipts taxes created by the construction and opening of this new business in seven to nine months, will provide a positive economic impact to our community.
