Posted May 14, 2025. Just before noon on Monday, May 12, a fire erupted in several wood pallets at Western Wood Products, 181 NM-555, Raton, New Mexico. A large spire of black smoke was visible throughout Raton causing several onlookers to drive to the scene.
Firefighters from Raton, Colfax Rapid Response, Cimarron, French Tract, Maxwell, Philmont and Vermejo fought the fire, effectively keeping it from spreading. Read more about it in the KRTN website article by Marty Mayfield.
