MARTIN ZAMORA OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCES CANDIDACY FOR CONGRESS
Zamora Outraises Leger Fernandez in Q3 — Building Momentum to Take New Mexico’s 3rd Congressional District
ROSWELL, NM — Martin Zamora, Farmer, Rancher, Businessman, and State Representative from Clovis, N.M., is officially announcing his candidacy to challenge Teresa Leger Fernandez for New Mexico’s 3rd Congressional District.
Reports filed with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) show that Republican congressional candidate Martin Zamora outraised incumbent Democrat Teresa Leger Fernandez during the third quarter of 2025. Between July 1 and September 30, Zamora’s campaign brought in $247,065, compared to the $236,834 raised by Leger Fernandez during the same period.
While Leger Fernandez still holds a larger war chest—starting October with $550,648 cash on hand compared to Zamora’s $225,676—the strong fundraising performance underscores growing Republican momentum in northern New Mexico.
“These numbers prove what we already know—voters are ready for change,” Zamora said. “People across this district are tired of being ignored by a career politician who only listens to Santa Fe elites. We’re building a movement to give rural New Mexicans and working families a real voice in Washington.”
With nearly a year to go before Election Day, Zamora’s campaign has already surpassed the 2024 nominee’s total and is well on pace to exceed 2022 numbers. “We’re just getting started,” Zamora added. “The people of this district deserve better than radical progressive policies that hurt our farmers, our oil and gas workers, and our border communities. This is going to be a fight, and we’re working hard to build up the resources needed to win.”
Zamora’s campaign has focused on economic opportunity, energy independence, border security, and protecting the agricultural backbone of northern New Mexico. His strong Q3 fundraising numbers demonstrate broad grassroots support and growing Republican enthusiasm for flipping the seat in 2026.
