Remembering a Local WWI Hero – PVT Benjamin Dallas
This Veterans Day feature highlights the remarkable story of a local New Mexico hero, Private Benjamin Dallas whose courage and dedication were forged during World War I–“the war to end all wars.” He left his family’s farm to answer his nation’s call and he served with honor and distinction. After the Armistice was signed, PVT Dallas returned home to Maxwell, New Mexico, where he resumed his life humble place in society. This article recognizes those who have served, and those who are serving today in the United States Armed Forces.
