Colfax County Lodgers Tax Board Seeks Volunteer Members

We are currently seeking members to join the Lodgers Tax Board and play a crucial role in shaping our community’s tourism and hospitality landscape. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about enhancing our local economy and supporting initiatives that benefit both residents and visitors.

About the Lodgers Tax Board:
The board is responsible for overseeing the allocation of lodger’s tax funds, promoting tourism, and ensuring that our community continues to thrive as a welcoming destination. Members will work collaboratively to develop strategies that maximize the impact of our tourism initiatives. This will be an opportunity to help your own and other unincorporated businesses grow. Lodgers tax meetings are held once a month. Members are not required to attend in person and may Participate via Zoom if unable to be physically present.

Qualifications:
We are looking for individuals who possess:

  • Experience in hospitality, tourism, finance, or community development
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • A commitment to promoting our local economy and community welfare
  • 1 Member who are owners or operators of lodging subject to the occupancy tax within the unincorporated area of the county (out of City Limits).
  • 1 member who are owners or operators of industries located within the unincorporated area of the County (out of City Limits) that primarily provides services or products to tourists.
