Be Pro Be Proud NM Mobile Workshop Hits The Road Again: A Hands-On Career Adventure Rolling Into Raton, New Mexico at Raton High School on Tuesday, September 9, 2025!
Inside the state-of-the-art Mobile Workshop, students and visitors will explore high-wage, high-demand careers through cutting-edge virtual reality (VR) simulations and hands-on stations. Once onboard, they’ll operate virtual heavy machinery, drive a simulated semi-truck, perform electrical work and more at 13 different stations, all while learning about the day-to-day responsibilities, skill requirements, training paths, and earning potential of each profession (Carpentry, CDL Truck Driving, Diesel Tech, Electrician, Electric Utility Lineman, Fiber Optic Tech, Emergency Medical Tech, Medical Assistant, Heavy Equipment Operation, HVAC, Plumber & Pipefitter, Water Work Specialist, and Welder). .The experience is immersive, exciting, and built to ignite career curiosity in real time.
With a widening skills gap and a growing demand for technical professionals statewide, Be Pro Be Proud NM is tackling the workforce challenge head-on by connecting young people to practical, rewarding career paths. The program is designed to shift mindsets, showing students and job-seekers that they don’t need to leave their hometowns or take on college debt to find upward mobility and success. Backed by the New Mexico Chamber of Commerce Foundation and the New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions, this initiative delivers relevant career awareness directly to schools and communities, creating a pipeline to local prosperity.
