At present, Raton does not have any specific resources (e.g., emergency shelter, transitional housing, or permanent supportive housing) to serve the needs of the homeless in our community. RatonCDC is sponsoring the creation of the Raton Homeless Housing Coalition to develop solutions for meeting homeless housing needs in our community. 

While housing is a high priority for the City of Raton, housing for the homeless is just one of many housing needs competing for limited funds and resources. We need a powerful coalition, consisting of concerned citizens from as many agencies, businesses, and organizations as possible, to encourage the City to make homeless housing one of its highest priorities. Meeting homeless housing needs is both a moral and practical imperative!

If you would like to make recommendations to this coalition, or just want to be supportive, we are holding an initial meeting on Saturday, August 23rd at 9:30 am in the offices of the First Baptist Church at 227 S 3rd St in Raton.
