Holy Trinity Episcopal Church Reenacts Christ’s Ride Into Jerusalum on Palm Sunday

Easter Sunday is an annual Christian holiday celebrated in the United States and across the globe. Palm Sunday is on the Sunday before Easter and celebrates the triumphant entry of Jesus riding a borrowed burro into Jerusalem as the crowd waved palm branches and shouted “Hosanna.” This year’s Palm Sunday celebration at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 240 Rio Grande Avenue, included the reenactment of Christ’s ride into Jerusalem using a borrowed burro graciously provided by Blue Sky Ranch at the reigns of owner Dana White and assisted by Anna Hall.

New Mexico legend is that the cross on the back of burros is a reminder of the Palm Sunday honor. The burro used in the reenactment is named Tiger after our own Raton Tigers.
