Letter from the Editor
As owner/publisher/editor of The Ratonian, I can no longer give it the time that it needs and deserves. If anyone else has a passion to provide information and news to Raton that doesn’t require a social media membership like Facebook, where only “friends” see the posts, or require a subscription fee like the online or hard copy newspapers, or an inordinate amount of time listening to the airwaves, please consider taking over as editor.
The advantage of The Ratonian is that it is available to read by anyone with internet access. It promotes Raton, our community, the businesses and people, and with support can provide several paying jobs. The Ratonian can be and is an economic development tool. According to the website metrics, it is read by thousands every month, not only local residents, but by friends and family who live elsewhere and want to keep up with their hometown, and by many others who might be interested in moving to, or starting a business in Raton. It is also found online and read by many who want to learn more about Raton and the surrounding community. The Ratonian is the only online source where all of the events are in one place and accessible to everyone on the internet.
If you are a real go-getter, love the community, want to help promote Raton, and are willing to put in countless free hours of work and believes that print is not dead, send an email to: editor@theratonian.com to discuss the possibilities of taking over as editor of The Ratonian.
