Today Raton Public Schools received a report of a possible shooting at Raton High School. As a result, lockdown protocols were activated. Law Enforcement quickly responded. As a safety precaution, Longfellow and Raton Intermediate School went into shelter in place protocols. At this time, it is still under investigation.
Tomorrow, Wednesday September 18th there will be no school for all students. Students will return Thursday, September 19th.
If your child needs counseling, the school will have them on staff tomorrow at 9:00 am at the high school. The STOP IT anonymous reporting app has free Telehealth counseling for all high school students. Students, will need to login to the app to access these services.
