Thank you for your service, Veterans!
What we know as Veterans Day, was originally signed in law in 1938 as Armistice Day to honor and remember the agreement that was signed to end World War I on November 11, 1918. In 1954, after World War II and the Korean War, congress amended the act to Veterans Day to honor veterans of all wars.
The observance of Veteran’s Day allows time to reflect and act on providing for the care and needs of our veterans in health care, employment, and housing.
