Smokey Bear at the library

Saturday, June 15, 2024. 2:00 – 3:00 PM

This year the Arthur Johnson Memorial Library is running a new program alongside summer story hour called the Smokey Bear Reading Challenge! Speakers will be coming in every Saturday to talk to kids about the importance of fire safety and wildlife protection and conservation. This program will run every Saturday starting on June 15th from 2 pm to 3 pm. Kids will also read books from a provided reading list to earn prizes!

We’re starting it off strong this Saturday with a workshop hosted by Mary Elder on the History and Importance of Smokey Bear. This program is open to kids of all ages and any adults who are also interested, it’s sure to be an amazing program that you won’t want to miss! A full schedule of all of the guest speakers will be posted to both the Arthur Johnson Facebook page and our Arthur Johnson Memorial Library blog.
